Our Events
SBC will organise 4 scheduled events each year, currently based in Gloucestershire and surrounding counties.
We are keen to encourage/facilitate the community in arranging and sharing any other ideas for activities we might enjoy together.

Mid-Summer outings
Our mid-summer outings will be a relaxed opportunity for us to meet and enjoy being outdoors together in what will hopefully be nice summer weather! We may take a river boat ride in Tewkesbury, followed by stopping for refreshments. It could be a visit to the Royal Gardens at Highgrove. It may even be a Woodland Activity Day: meeting in a private arboretum where we can be together, share conversation around a campfire, explore the beautiful woods and enjoy some campfire refreshments.

Spring & Autumn walks
We like to call our walks ‘Amble/Ramble’ days. We select a location for the event, and we start by meeting in the centre of a small town. Those who prefer a gentle outing can ‘amble’ around the town, enjoying the shops and local landmarks on offer. Those who like a bit of country walking will head off on a ramble in the surrounding countryside, led by one of our SBC coordinators. The rambles are approximately 4 miles long and taken at a pace to suit the group –returning to the town centre in ~2 hours. The Amblers and Ramblers then re-connect as a group to enjoy some refreshments together- usually involving a tasty cream tea somewhere!

Winter get togethers
An indoor event is called for at this time of year! Just before all the festive madness begins in earnest, we will have our final meetup of the year together. Think buffet lunches, mixed craft activities, or enjoying a restaurant meal together. All in a warm place where we can enjoy good food and good company.

It’s easy to do, just create a free account here, and then host a personal meeting. Once you’ve done that, post the meeting link on the SBC Community facebook group, with the time and passcode, ready for anyone to join.
